Joe Ann Vermillion -- Director, District 11 (Pittsburg & McIntosh)

Elected to Board: 1998 Joe Ann received a B.S. degree in 1966 and a M.S. degree in 1973 in Home Economics Education/Family Relations/Child Development. She currently is Director of the Kiamichi Technology Center in McAlester. While at OSU, she was on the Dean's Honor Roll. She received her Administration Certification through OSU in 1990. She is an active member of the Oklahoma Vocational Association/American Vocational Association and also belongs to the National Council of Local Administrators. Joe Ann is currently president of the Tiak Girl Scout Council (14 counties) and is past president of the McAlester Business & Professional Women Noon Club. Other civic activities include March of Dimes Executive Council, Pittsburg County American Heart Association Executive Board and McAlester Chamber of Commerce. She also is Past President of the McAlester United Way. She was named "Woman of the Year" by the McAlester Boys' Club and "Business Women of the Year" by the McAlester Business and Professional Women. She is an active member of the Pittsburg County Alumni Chapter, having served two years as president. She is a Life Member of the Alumni Association. She has three children, one of which is also an OSU graduate. She enjoys OSU sports, professional baseball, reading, gardening, traveling and needlework.
