OSU Texas License Plate Available Now

More than 30,000 Oklahoma State University alumni and fans in Texas can now purchase an OSU Texas license plate.

One hundred plates were sold the first day they were available, placing OSU above the University of Texas (93) for the best launch of a collegiate plate in Texas with provider My Plates.

The OSU plate is a reality after years of hard work by the OSU Alumni Association.

“Our OSU license plate in Oklahoma has been a tremendous success,” said Larry Shell, OSU Alumni Association president. “We’re excited to offer our Texas alumni this new opportunity to show their affinity for OSU and support their alma mater.”

The plates are for one, five or ten year terms and cost $55 per year or $30 per year when purchasing a ten-year term. All OSU plates can be personalized for an additional fee.

The plate feature OSU’s mascot Pistol Pete on the left side with Oklahoma State on the bottom and Texas on the top – both in OSU orange. Ten percent of the cost of each plate will be returned to the OSU Alumni Association to support scholarships and student programs.

“It’s a win-win for our alumni in Texas,” Shell said. “They can give back to OSU by purchasing an OSU license plate and share their orange pride in the Lone Star state.”

The OSU Texas license plate can be ordered from My Plates online at www.myplates.com or by phone at 888.7MY.PLATES (888.769.7528). Plates will also be available to order from local county tax assessor offices in Texas by late June.

To celebrate the launch of the Texas OSU license plate, My Plates will be offering OSU alumni a chance to win their purchase price back. Simply purchase a personalized Texas OSU license plate by June 30 and you’ll automatically be entered. The Association will select the plate they deem most clever to be the official winner.
