Groups

The Groups function on orangeconnection.org is a new tool enabling OSU alumni and fans to interact with each other online. After joining a Group, members can post photos, messages, blogs and chat live with other members of the group.

There are hundreds of Groups already started for you can get involved in. Every OSU Alumni Chapter has a Group for its members based on a specific area of the country. There is also a Group for every class year, campus organization and living group so you can reconnect with your fellow classmates in a variety of ways.

Get Involved!

To access Groups, register and login to orangeconnection.org and click “My Profile” at the top of any page (click here to open "My Profile" in a new window). Select the “Groups” tab and select either “My Groups” or “Suggested Groups.”

Several Groups are predetermined by fields in your record, such as class year. Be sure to check both the "My Groups" and "Suggested Groups" tabs to view the groups that you are automatically a member of or those that have been suggested for you.

Chapter Groups
To become a member of a Chapter's Group, click “My Account” at the top of any page after you have logged in and select the “Association Information” tab (click here to open "My Account" in a new window).

Chapter locations are listed in a drop-down list on the page. Once you select a location, you will automatically be placed into the Group for that Chapter, which can be accessed either from your "Groups" profile tab or through the Chapter's homepage (click here for a list of Chapters).

Create Your Own!
Don’t see a Group that fits your needs? Create one! Members are invited to create their own groups and invite their friends on orangeconnection.org. To create a group, click the “Create a Group” button on the "Groups" tab of your profile.

Photo Op
Did you not have your orange on when you took this picture? Unless you look like a grey box, we want to see your face! Upload a photo of yourself to the community so your fellow members can recognize you.


There are two ways to upload a photo:
  • Login and click “My Profile” at the top of any page (click here to open "My Profile" in a new window). Click the “Photos” tab and create a new album (example: “My Photos”). Select “Manage Album,” then “Manage Photos” to upload a photo. Photos must be approved by administrators so check back in one business day for your photo to appear.

  • FacebookConnect allows you to link your orangeconnection.org profile to Facebook and automatically keep your profile picture updated. For instructions on how to enable FacebookConnect, click here.
