The Classnotes feature provides members with a place to share information (in several different categories) about what is going on in their lives.  Use the criteria below to search for the members whose notes you would like to read.

To Search for Classnotes:
1. Specify a set of search criteria.  To select a criterion for use in your search, click the the checkbox to the left of its filter name.  You must select at least one Note Category to conduct a search. 
2. Make any selections or provide any text required by the selected criteria.
3. Click Search Classnotes.
NOTE: Clicking the Search Classnotes button without defining criteria will generate a list of all existing and approved Classnotes.

To Submit a Classnote:
To add a class note, click Add Classnote.
NOTE:  If you have recently added a ClassnNote, it is possible that you will not see it in the results immediately.  Each Community has its own rules and time frames regarding Administrator approval of member-submitted content.

Bert Cole, ’46, agronomy, graduated from OSU with a masters in agronomy in 1946. While at OSU Bert played for the Cowboy football team that won the ’46 Sugar Bowl. He served as a B-24 bomber in WWII and was shot down but protected by Yugoslavs resulting in his return home. He was married to the former Willie Gazaway and is survived by his six children, 19 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He donated nearly 26 gallons of blood in his lifetime and he and Mrs. Cole were Life Members of the Alumni Association.

Donald Iverson, ’51, arch, passed away on April 14, 2013. He was born February 5, 1926 in Tulsa Okla. Don was active in Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout from Troup 37 in May, 1941. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1944, and then he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Don attended the University of Tulsa and went on to graduate from OSU in 1951. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at both TU and OSU. He went to work for John Zink Company in 1951 and retired as a senior sales consultant after 43 years. Don was a long time Deacon at First Christian Church in Tulsa and was a member of the Double Ring Saturday School Class.

Hadley Meinders, ’47, agronomy, passed away on April 20, 2013, in Tulsa Okla. He was born in Okarche, Okla. and the family moved to Yukon, Okla. when he was young. He attended schools in Yukon and was active in FFA, where he raised Duroc hogs, Buff Orpington chickens and a Jersey cow. Hadley attended Oklahoma A&M College 1941-43 and 1946-49. He joined his brothers, Harvey and Wesley, at the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He served in the Army Air Corps as an Aviation Cadet in World War II. Hadley married Lois Marie Schroeder on September 7, 1958, in Okarche. Throughout his life, Hadley was an avid OSU Cowboy fan. He loved attending sporting events with his family, and he rarely missed a home football or basketball game.

William (Bill) Lava Rude, ’50, mech eng, died Sept. 17, 2013. Bill was born in Iola, Ks. on April 14, 1925 and attended school in Parsons, Okla. After graduation from Parsons High School, he joined the U.S. Army Air Force. When he was discharged, he began school at Parsons Junior College, where he met his future wife, Jean Marie Ledbetter. They continued their education at Oklahoma A&M University in Stillwater. Bill graduated in 1950 and went on to work for Sheffield Steel in Kansas City, Mo.

Richard M. Rogers, M.S. ’71, ent, died April 20, 2013 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Richard was born in Shawnee, Okla. where he graduated high school in 1966. In 1970, he was married to Elizabeth Ann Carpenter in Shawnee. Richard was an entomologist, motivational speaker, trainer and a member of the OSU Alumni Assoc.

Margaret McCann Horvath, ’70, bus ed, passed away Oct. 23, 2012 surrounded by her family. Margaret was born Jan. 13, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas, her family soon moved to Houston where she spent her childhood. She graduated from Oklahoma State in 1970 with a B.S. in business administration. Margaret met her lifelong partner, Richard Horvath in 1971 and they were married a year later.

George Gerards Jr., ’49, ag econ, passed away Feb. 11, 2013 on his 90th birthday. George was born Feb. 11, 1923 in Kennewick, Washington and served as 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Following his military time, he graduated from Oklahoma State with a degree in agricultural economics.

Marc Francis Fontaine, Ph. D. ’54, chem eng, died Jan. 24, 2013 at the age of 86. Marc received his B.S. ’50 and M.S. ’51 in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University, where he also met his wife, Dorothy. The couple were married August 1949 and enjoyed 63 years together. Marc worked as a research chemical engineer at Texaco for 40 years in supervisor and management where he mentored many young engineers along the way.

Dolores Edmiston, ’51, bus ed, passed away on July 17, 2012. She was married to Edward Edmiston, ’51, animal science livestock operation, for 58 years before her passing. Dolores had six children, 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Four of her children graduated from OSU and her husband calls them an “OSU family”.

Robert (Bob) Davis, ’74, for, died March 23, 2013 in Fayetteville, Ark. Bob was born August 7, 1951 in Stillwater and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1969. He met his future wife, Judy, ’74, bus, his sophomore year at OSU and the couple had two children Megan and Jason. Bob served 20 years of his life as an Army Engineer Officer and earned LTC at the time of his retirement.
