OSU Family Finalists on ABC Show

Family Wins
An Oklahoma State family has reached the season finale of America’s Funniest Videos thanks to their dog Junior, a rescued Chihuahua, whose escape antics won them $100,000 on a recent episode.

Wayne and Kamiel Gartner of Bixby, Okla., and their two daughters, Hayden and Brynn, adopted the dog on Father’s Day. Kamiel says she taped Junior with the family's older dog to see how the two would get along while the family took a trip to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks.

The video won first place on a Jan. 3 episode and secured the family’s spot in the second round, which they won on Sunday. They’re now one of three finalists that will complete on the season finale for the grand prize – a 20-person VIP trip to Walt Disney World.

Wayne is a 1992 physiology alum and current member of the OSU Alumni Association. The family purchased its first season tickets for Cowboy Football last year and now plans on an upgrade, which Wayne mentions to show host Tom Bergeron after the win. They are also planning on making a donation to the rescue group where they adopted Junior.

The season finale will be taped in March and air in May on ABC. Stay tuned to orangeconnection.org to see how Junior and the Gartners do!
